From research to innovation

Although trucks are crucial for the transportation of goods in an increasingly complex market environment, they are responsible for 5 percent of all GHG emissions in the EU. Therefore, improving sustainability in transport logistics has been a primary focus for us from the beginning. We aimed to showcase that economic efficiency, flexibility, and sustainability can coexist and be achieved simultaneously.

In mid-2017, the idea to optimize transport capacities through AI-based planning was born. Assembling a team of experienced mathematicians, software developers, and logistics experts, we received support from the Federal Ministry of Digital and Transportation through a €2.5M grant to carry out the multi-year research project, Carrypicker. Throughout this endeavor, we explored various approaches and methods and successfully implemented them in pilot projects with renown companies.

The valuable insights gained during that time laid the technological foundation for Loglign, paving the way for more efficient and eco-friendly road freight logistics.
